Shep Eppinger

About Me

My name is Shep Eppinger, and I am a dedicated music educator and private instructor with a lifelong passion for teaching and performing. I hold a B.S. in Music Education from Morris Brown College and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Walden University.

Teaching Experience

I am a retired educator with over 25 years of experience teaching band and chorus at the middle and high school level. During my career, I had the privilege of guiding countless young musicians, many of whom went on to earn scholarships, win All-State honors, succeed in literary competitions, and even pursue teaching careers of their own.

As a private instructor, I teach a wide range of instruments and disciplines, including:

Performance Background

My performance experience includes work with college concert, jazz, and orchestral ensembles, as well as earlier involvement with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, All-State Orchestra, and Honor Bands during my high school years. In addition, I have recorded music across various genres and continue to explore my passion for composition and music theory.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe music is not only an art form but also a discipline that builds confidence, creativity, and lifelong skills. My lessons are designed to meet each student at their level, focusing on fundamentals while encouraging personal expression and growth. A relaxed, fun but focused atmosphere to obtain your highest level of achievement is my goal. 

Location & Availability

I am located in Douglasville, GA, near the Fairburn Road/Interstate 20 exit, and offer lessons tailored for students of all ages and abilities.
