Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, MC Shep discovered his passion and natural talent for music at an early age. By the age of eight, he had taught himself to play guitar by ear, and by twelve, he had mastered the piano through self-instruction. His musical abilities earned him multiple academic and band scholarships upon graduating from high school.

Shep attended Morris Brown College, where he majored in Music Education, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in the arts. He went on to serve for more than two decades as a band and choral director, leading his students and organizations to numerous awards, honors, and outstanding performances.

Beyond the classroom, Shep has pursued an extensive recording career under the stage name MC Shep. Operating his own recording studio, he has released numerous musical projects spanning multiple genres while also collaborating with artists as a performer, producer, songwriter, and arranger.

His debut recording, the cult-classic 45 rpm single "Humanoids Get Up," has become highly sought after among collectors worldwide. In 2025, an original pressing sold for $2,500 on Discogs, further cementing its status as a rare and influential piece of independent electronic dance music history.

Today, Shep continues to create, perform, and produce music, combining a lifetime of musical expertise with a passion for innovation and artistic expression.
